FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
What
are the differences between the Custom, Chrome and Standard kits?
You
can read about the differences here.
Are
the LED lights difficult to install?
Absolutely
not. If you've ever accessed your bike's battery you can install the
lights. The kit comes with full instructions and everything you need
to light up your bike.
Where
do the accent lights go on the bike?
Ah
ha! We've got you covered. We have a brand
new DVD video packed with info and tips as well as a complete
bike build. It'll show you exactly where your new lights should
go and how to install the kit.
Can
you install them for me - I'm based near to you.
We
can if you're based within 50 miles of us. We're in Oxford PA about
35 miles from both Philly and Baltimore. The total fee for the light
color kit of your choice and the installation by two professional installers
would be $459. If you're further out than that there would
be an extra charge of $1 per mile over the 50 mile limit (one way) -
so if you're 60 miles away there would be an additional charge of $10.
The install takes about two hours and we need a clean, dark, enclosed
area to work on the vehicle. Alternatively you can drop your bike off
at our location and pick it up a couple of hours later all lit up and
ready to go! Call 610 932 0895 or email
us for info on getting a pro install on your ride.
Who
makes your lights?
The
lights are manufactured by Swint Led Lights based in
Sturgis and are made to the highest standards. The LEDs themselves are
the brightest on the market - no other motorcycle accent lighting comes
close to Swint's for quantity, quality, brightness and ease of use.
The
tutorial DVD shows ten colors but you only sell eight now - what happened?
Swint
Led Lights decided to cease production on the less popular colors. At
some point in the future we may recommence selling them - so stay tuned!
Are
these sort of motorcycle accent lighting legal in the US?
It
depends on your state and you should definitely check your local laws
before riding on public roads with your LED accent lights on. Each kit
that we sell comes with a dedicated switch to enable you to disable
the lights if you're in an area where the laws are stricter or you're
unsure of the legal standing.
In
PA, where we are based, all bike accent lighting is legal
regardless of color or type - refer to
HB 901 signed by Gov Rendell for the press release, the actual
Bill can be obtained
here. Some law enforcement may not be aware of the new law so
print it out and carry it with you if you're concerned.
In
Maryland the
lights are legal with the exception of blue and red (pdf).
We
feel that as bikers we need all the conspicuousness that we can get,
especially at night, so if your state prohibits such lighting then contact
your local ABATE chapter and do something!
Do
you ship internationally?
Sure
do. Shipping cost is the same as domestic USA. As all bikes are DC 12v
the light kits work right out of the box regardless of your country's
main electrical system.
How
much is shipping on my order?
It's
small flat fee based on the total purchase amount. This fee is automatically
calculated when you check out.
Purchase
amount --------------------------------- Shipping and Handling Fee
$00 - $ 49.99 --------------------------------------- $1.30
$50 - $ 99.99 --------------------------------------- $3.50
$100-$199.99 -------------------------------------- $4.50

I've
just placed an order - what happens now?
You'll
receive an email confirming your order and you'll also receive one when
we ship. Shipping time is around three business days so you can expect
your order promptly.
I've
put the lights on the bike and they look great but I think I need a couple
of extra pods/strips.
Give
us a call 610 932 0895 or email
us. We can supply individual pods, wiring harnesses, extensions
etc to really push your bike lights over the edge.
I
need something answered that's not covered here.
